B.P. Oil Spill Disaster Continues! Toxic Corexit solvent was sprayed in the Gulf! ???
Join the Center in the No More Oil Spills Month of Action.
Nearly three months after the oil-rig blowout that sent oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, the spill continues to devastate our ocean and coasts.
The toll so far: 11 workers killed and numerous others sickened in the clean up; 1,789 birds, 457 sea turtles and 59 mammals (mainly dolphins) collected dead; tar balls polluting shores from Texas to Florida and now, oil stretching into Louisiana's Lake Pontchartrain. The Fishing industry....closed!
Cut and paste this url for a very sad Video...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qu6XFJRxd9Y&feature=channel Our losses increase daily, with no certain end in sight.
Every day, people ask us what they can do about the catastrophe in the Gulf. Here's one concrete thing: Take part in the No More Oil Spills Month of Action. (Another vitally important thing to do is stop buying Gasolene and products made from Oil. Stop driving internal combustion engines! Ride a Bicycle to work or take a Bus or a Train. Ask where and when you can buy an all Electric vehicle. Contact Japan and ask where and when you can buy thin Solar Panels for your home. Actually make the effort because there are only about five years or less left before the Earth passes the global-warming tipping point of no return, and you can bet the Farm that rich and powerful people have both homes and gardens hidden high up in the Mountains, protected by high fences and security guards.)
This week, we need you to email your senators. Please contact them today and urge them to stop oil spills by moving us rapidly away from our dependence on fossil fuels. How? By protecting and implementing the Clean Air Act to curb carbon pollution without delay, and enacting a permanent moratorium on offshore oil drilling.

Corexit is a deadly toxic chemical harmful to humans and expecially to the humans now attempting to clean up the Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Corexit is a neural toxic chemical that will poison and make people sick! Long term effects have yet to become evident; but for a good example, the past Exxon Valdex disaster is a strong indicator of what happens to locals twenty years later, after they worked hard cleaning up the Oil spill.
It is a safe bet that the people working to clean up the Gulf of Mexico Oil spill today, will experience severe consequences in the future!
From time to time, we'll be sending you news on our progress as well as articles, video clips, and interviews to keep you informed about what's going on in coastal Louisiana.
Thank you
