I am moved to serve for the cause of civil liberties because of some profound, eye-opening experiences I had as a youngster, when I saw dictatorship in action. I am grateful for the liberties we do still have, and deeply concerned about their losses. I previously served on the Board of my local County ACLU Chapter as a volunteer. You can see my 153 articles and diaries on Opednews by googling my author's page there.
